
John Post has over 35 years of experience in planning, executing, and delivering large, complex scientific projects. He has held leadership and management roles at the project, program, and corporate levels, serving as a senior advisor to C-suite executives at several U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories and consulting for various commercial sector companies. Notably, he was a core member of the team that delivered the National Ignition Facility, the largest project ever successfully completed by the DOE. He has also overseen governance and fiduciary responsibilities for large R&D laboratories and managed multi-billion dollar employee retirement plans.
A recognized expert in managing complex projects, John has participated in and led over 50 project status reviews and peer assessments for large scientific and technical projects, both internationally and within the DOE. His diverse experience includes first-of-a-kind science projects and large environmental cleanup activities. John has also contributed to the profession through the Project Management Institute (PMI), where he chaired the team that developed the PMI Global Standard for Earned Value Management and supported the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act. He holds a BS and an MBA from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
