Her expertise in consensus-building and strategic planning was recognized at the federal level when she served on the President's Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future from 2010 to 2012, expanding engagement with state and local governments and tribal nations across the sector.
In 2013, Mary was appointed Advisor for External Engagement to the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Her pivotal role in the Department of Energy's Consent-based Siting initiative from 2015 to 2018 incorporated public and stakeholder input into program development, exemplifying her commitment to inclusive decision-making.
Mary later became Director of Stakeholder Engagement at Deep Isolation, a pioneering nuclear waste disposal firm in Berkeley, and consulted for Southern California Edison on strategic nuclear fuel cycle management. For the past four years, she has led stakeholder engagement and business development for Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation.
